Chuckles ala Carte

Posted 22 August

On Friday night we visited one of those little, hidden areas that seem to abound in London and add so much to its flavor. It's a small area (centered on James Street) that is just off of Oxford Street -- one of the busiest streets in the city. But in this little alcove of about 1 block by 2 blocks, there are a dozen or more restaurants and pubs, most with outdoor as well as indoor seating, and lots of little shops. We were dining at a small "Franco-English" restaurant (called Auberge). Chuck pointed out that the menu included an unusual main course -- Kangaroo. Leave it to Kathi to point out that the menu also said it came with "spring" vegetables!
